The latest trend in the CBN arena seems to be CBN capsules. These little, but powerful, capsules have a lot to offer for sleep relief. They are easy to travel with, easy to take, and make the perfect alternative for people sensitive to MCT or other terpene blends.
One of the most recent observations in the new “world” of CBN, is that many users are wanting to experience the benefits of CBN without ingesting lots of MCT oil (commonly found in larger quantities in CBD) or naturally occurring terpene bends, like linalool.
One of the most obvious benefits, a fantastic alternative was to ingest CBN for its great sleep benefits.
So, what’s it CBN capsules all about? What are the benefits of these sleepy capsules and what do they have to offer?
Well, let’s take a look…
—
1. It may be easier to store capsules
Storing CBN tinctures can potentially be a pain. You have to be super mindful of making sure that the tinctures are screwed on very tightly. Otherwise, you may be at risk of having serious leakage in your drawers or medicine cabinets. No one likes to lose the precious contents of the gem of all minor cannabinoids.
They are also more convenient to transfer from one container to another. So, if you are headed out of town for the weekend and need to pack 4-5 capsules… You could store a few into your personal vitamin/ supplement pouches. This could be way easier than traveling with a full tincture bottle or even a full capuse bottle. Ultimately, helping you consolidate the bottles and items that you have to pack in your dopp kit.
*We always recommend to store Slumber and CBN products in a dry and cool area. Keep out of the reach of Children. Make sure your CBN is stored in a safe space, so one one else can access your items. Keep the capsules away from any water or liquid. It is recommended to keep Slumber CBN products near the bottle, so the nutrition and supplement facts are nearby for your reference.
2. Accurately dosed
*If you are new to CBN, we recommend starting out with 5-10 mg of CBN every night.
Most likely, you will be taking CBN sleep aids in two forms:
- Tinctures or
- Capsules/Softgels.
Let’s start with tinctures. There is never 100% certainty you will get the correct CBN dosage when you use a standard dropper. Ultimately, you are in control of making sure you accurately dose your CBN. Not everyone is perfect!
- Did you squeeze too much CBN past the 1mL mark?
- Or was there a little CBN liquid leftover after you pressed the dropper top, after you ingested the fluids?
All and all, the droppers can be hard to manipulate and accurately rely on accurate dosage. But, with capsules – there are no such worries. Especially, since each capsule is accurately measured and then tested by a 3rd party lab.
Although CBN is generally recognized as safe, the possibilities of accidental under dosing/overdosing are practically gone.
Make sure you are consulting your physician before use. Make sure to read the Supplement Facts / Suggested use of every CBN product. Results may vary on the serving sizes.
3. If you want to skip the Tincture taste entirely
(especially if you just brushed your teeth).
Everyone has their own preferences to flavor profiles. Some tincture profiles may be up your ally more than others. This could all be related to the sensory capacities of your taste buds. Which are dictated by the structure of the receptors on your taste cells.
Regardless if you have a preference to various tincture profiles or not.. These preferences may change. Do you like a glass of wine/beer before bed? Maybe you just brushed your teeth, and are not waiting for any type of flavor to consume your pallet.
Capsules are a great way for you to sneak in your CBN 30 min-1 hour before bed, regardless of your taste bud situation.
4. Little amounts of MCT oil
If you know that your body doesn’t particularly handle larger amounts of MCT oil, it may be a sign to switch over to CBN capsules / softgels. CBN capsules have very little MCT Oil in them. This makes it the ideal alternative for those individuals who have or experience side effects when taking larger amounts of CBN.
It is always best to tell your doctor or get medical help right away if you have any signs or symptoms from MCT oil (or any other ingredients in your CBN products).
According to Drugs.com some MCT Oil side effects that you may want to look out for may include, but are not limited to:
- Signs of an allergic reaction, like rash; hives; itching; red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin with or without fever; wheezing; tightness in the chest or throat; trouble breathing, swallowing, or talking; unusual hoarseness; or swelling of the mouth, face, lips, tongue, or throat.
- Upset stomach or throwing up.
- Very bad stomach pain.
5. No/Little Terpenes Added
While #5 may not be true for all CBN capsules that you may encounter, SlumberCBN.com will/does not have any Terpenes in their 5mg Capsules.
While not everyone shows adverse effects to terpenes, one study tested 3,000 patients who had eczema by rubbing a patch containing and oxidized linalool on their skin, and results showed that up to 7% of them displayed an allergy to the terpenoid.
